Jakarta –
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky yakin Ukraine would recapture all the cities that Russia had occupied, including Sievierodonetsk. He acknowledged that war was becoming difficult to handle.
Reported from ReutersSunday (26/6/2022) in his speech, Zelensky also said Ukraine had been hit by 45 Russian missiles and rockets over the past 24 hours. He said it wouldn’t dampen the spirits of his people.
“That’s why all our cities — Sievierodonetsk, Donetsk and Luhansk — we will get them all back,” he said.
He named the city of Sievierodonetsk, which finally fell to Moscow forces earlier in the day after weeks of brutal fighting.
“At this stage of the war it is spiritually difficult, emotionally difficult … we don’t know how long it will last, how many more attacks, losses and efforts will be required before we see victory on the horizon,” he said emotionally.
The relentless missile strikes confirm that sanctions against Russia are not enough to help Ukraine. He said his country needed more weapons.
“Air defense systems — modern systems that our partners have — shouldn’t be in training grounds or in warehouses, but in Ukraine, where they are needed now, they are needed more than anywhere else in the world,” he said.
