Zelensky expressed such a vision with the leaders of Moldova, Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia in a joint briefing, answering the question of Croatian journalists whether Ukraine considers negotiations with the Russian leadership possible after all that Russia has done.
Zelensky reminded that Ukraine has already offered its “peace formula”, in which it clearly outlined its vision for the actions necessary to end the war.
“Of course, there will be a fixation on the end of the war. Only at this big table, where honest countries will sit, [var būt] A representative of Russia – it’s hard for me to say who it will be at that time – who will first withdraw all troops from our territory without fighting,” Zelensky said.
“Then the diplomatic format will begin. But if we forcefully knock them all out, then there is basically nothing to talk about with such people. Because we will lose people. There will be many casualties. What is there to talk about with such people basically? They must be isolated, like, with whom it is unthinkable to shake hands. That’s all,” said the president.
