Office of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has published answers to basic questions about the coronavirus vaccine Pfizer.
Specifically on the OP’s page at Facebook told about delivery times and additional doses.
“On May 1, Ukraine signed a contract with Pfizer to supply an additional 10 million doses of the vaccine. This is the first vaccine in the world that has been approved for use in the US and the EU, and its efficiency rate is 95%,” Zelensky said.
How did you manage to negotiate the supply?
The OP clarified that it was possible to conclude the contract thanks to Zelensky’s personal agreements with Pfizer CEO Albert Burla.
Already 10 million doses have been reported. Is this the same party?
As Zelensky explained, we are talking about additional doses. On April 6, a contract was signed for 10 million, and on the night of April 30 to May 1 – another one also for 10 million doses. In total, Ukraine should receive 20 million doses of the vaccine by the end of the year.
When will they arrive?
The first deliveries under the contract should be in May or June (500 thousand doses). Another 4.5 million doses are promised in the third quarter (July-September). The remaining 15 million doses are expected in the fourth quarter (September-December).
What if I want to get vaccinated now and not wait for the American vaccine?
The OP called it a good idea and listed those drugs that are already in Ukraine: Covishield, AstraZeneca-SkBio, CoronoVac.
Also received 117 thousand doses of Pfizer, which are used to vaccinate residents and employees of boarding schools, as well as nursing homes.
As reported OBOZREVATELHealth Minister Maxim Stepanov said that the first batch of Pfizer’s 10 million vaccines will arrive on May 17-18.
