The Ukrainian president urges all Russians to protest against the Putin regime if they do not want to lose more soldiers in the war with Ukraine. He says this in a speech to the people according to Ukrainian Pravda.
There have been protests in both Moscow and St. Petersburg following Vladimir Putin’s decision partial mobilization of the population in the war against Ukraine.
– The protests weren’t great, but at least they took place. And they continue. This is a sign of opposition to the Russian government, Zelensky says.
– Now is the time to choose. For men in Russia, this is a choice between life and death, ending up paralyzed or keeping their health intact. For women it is the choice between losing husbands, children and grandchildren forever and trying to stop them from war, death and this one person, she says referring to Putin.
Zelenskii, who delivered parts of the speech in Russian, says the Russian regime plans to mobilize far more than they do. 300,000 as Defense Minister Sjojgu mentioned earlier this week. Zelenskii believes the authorities will raise one million.
– They want to mobilize everyone arbitrarily. Not just the reserve forces. They will scare every man in the country so that they will be more afraid of not getting up than of dying in the war.
He says at least 55,000 Russian soldiers lost their lives in the first six months of the war.
– Do you want more? Not that? So, go out and protest. Show resistance. Run or surrender to Ukrainian captivity.
On Thursday, VG wrote about a YouTube channel that canceled two of them Putin’s closest collaborators both refused to participate in the mobilization.
In his speech, Zelenskii addressed Russian mothers directly with the same theme.
– Russian mothers! Do not doubt that the children of your top leaders will not be sent to fight. Decision makers in the country protect their children. At the same time, they don’t even bother burying their children.
