17 people died in a crash between a bus and a fuel truck in western Ukraine.
In a daily address to the nation late last night, President Volodymyr Zelensky said a “terrible road accident” had occurred in the western district of Rovno.
“A bus, a car and a truck with fuel collided. So far, 17 people have died, but there may be more victims,” Zelenski said, expressing condolences to the people who lost loved ones in the accident.
The incident does not appear to be directly linked to Russia’s war against Ukraine, which has been going on for three months, and Zelensky did not mention any such connection in his address.
In recent weeks, Russia has focused its attacks on southern and eastern Ukraine, sometimes hitting sites and cities in the western regions.
