Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Dominates UK Boxed Sales Charts for Second Week in a Row

Nintendo Switch games are hard to beat in the boxed physical market. Despite launching a few years ago, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe gets cut every week, usually with the Switch version of Minecraft to boot. Judging by the sales figures, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom appears to be another addition to this collection of indomitable Switch titles.

That’s as the Switch sequel has once again topped the UK box sales charts for the second week in a row. In fact, Tears of the Kingdom has held the top spot since its launch in late May, only dropping briefly to Diablo IV in early June and then to Final Fantasy XVI in late June.

Considering July is a solid month, it seems likely that Tears of the Kingdom will continue to occupy the top spot until late August, when a string of big titles make their debuts.

As for the rest of this past week’s top 10, FIFA 23 is second, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is third, Final Fantasy XVI, Hogwarts Legacy, God of War: Ragnarök, Star Wars Jedi on Switch: Survivor, Call of Duty : Modern Warfare II, Diablo IV, and Minecraft make up the rest of the list.
