A 47-year-old man from Aardenburg and a 44-year-old woman from Terneuzen have been tried in the court in Middelburg for years of sexual abuse and exploitation of the woman’s two daughters.
The victims, now 20 and 14 years old, would have been abused between 2008 and 2019 by the main suspect Pascal P., the mother’s friend, but also by many others who paid the suspects for this.
The 20-year-old victim stated that the abuse started around the age of eight. At one point P. would even have abused her daily. “My mother just knew,” her statement quoted by the court said. “She said she couldn’t do anything to stop it. She didn’t like it.”
Parking lots and sex clubs
Mother Tanja D. confirmed the abuse in court. “In the beginning you just didn’t realize it. Eventually you will put the pieces together. I am just ashamed.”
The abuse mainly took place in the home at P.’s car garage. At the time, D. was also in the house and knew what was going on in the bedroom. She also knew that the girls were being drugged with GHB and sleeping pills to calm them down.
The 20-year-old daughter stated that the abuse got worse from the age of 16. P. is said to have taken her to a parking lot at the Kreekraksluizen for three summers, where men abused her at his invitation. She is said to have been abused there about three hundred times.
P. would also have taken her to four different swingers clubs in Belgium. There she had to have sex with men, sometimes with more than one equal. The victim estimates that she was taken to such clubs about fifty times. P. allegedly drugged her to make the abuse easier. Her mother would also have gone to the swingers clubs several times.
