Brand Zeekr presented its latest development – the Golden Brick battery. The battery stands out with a number of unique properties. The manufacturer has made it completely protected from water penetration, the level of protection corresponds to IPX8. The device weighing 710 kilograms went through several extreme tests, in particular, the battery was placed under water for 48 hours, it was cooled to minus 45 degrees Celsius, even thrown into a fire at a temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius, and after that the battery was installed in the car and continued to work . The company says Golden Brick is one of the safest battery packs available. According to the manufacturer, the battery manufactured using LFP technology can be charged up to 80% in just 15 minutes using a 500 kW charger.
The battery case is covered with a gold film that is resistant to high voltage. The color of the film seems to have determined the name of the battery, which, in addition to the listed features, also has one of the highest volumetric loading parameters – thanks to the compact layout it is 83.7%. By comparison, CATL’s Qilin battery, introduced in June 2022, has a volumetric capacity of 72% and an energy density of 255 Wh/kg. The Golden Brick will be installed in the new Zeekr 007 mid-size sedan.
