The Zeekr 001 made its official debut on the Chinese auto market in spring 2021, having been introduced by the Chinese giant’s premium electric brand at the time Geely as “Luxury Safari Coupe”. Zeekr is now announcing a whole host of improvements to the zero-emissions model.
In terms of outward appearance, the Zeekr 001 has remained unchanged, fittingly Engine1. However, the Chinese have added several shades of color in which the body can be painted, including Orange Yu Guang, Blue Extreme or Black Polar Night.
Not much has changed in the interior either, the Zeekr 001 model still boasts a central display with a diagonal of 14.7 inches and a digital instrument cluster with a screen size of 8.8 inches. Also at passenger level is a set of ventilated, heated and massaging front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, a Yamaha audio system and three-zone climate control. Electric doors are also now offered as standard.
Those who want a little more can opt for the Z Sport package, which comes with a set of 22-inch wheels, Brembo brakes with drilled discs, sports seats and Alcantara upholstery.
It will also reach the automotive market in Europe
The 86kWh and 100kWh batteries remain available, but Zeekr officials have announced a limited run of 1,000 001 that will be equipped with a 140kWh battery and rear-wheel drive. Under these conditions, these cars will have a slightly longer range 1,000 kilometres with a single charge.
Zeekr 001 enjoys quite significant success in the automotive market of China, which is why the Asian manufacturer made the decision to bring this model to the European car market. It is not known exactly when this will happen, but we will most likely see Zeekr 001 on the streets of the Old Continent soon enough.
