On Monday evening, the police found the body of a 60-year-old man in a room in one of the hotels in Konin. The local “Głos Wielkopolski” reported that the body belongs to the famous local businessman Zbigniew Witkowski. These speculations were confirmed by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Konin. As prosecutor Ewa Woźniak told Gazeta, the prosecutor working at the scene established the man’s identity.
“The body has been secured for an autopsy. We will investigate the circumstances of this incident,” said aspirant Maria Baranowska, spokeswoman for the Konin police, in an interview with Radio Zet.

According to “Głos Wielkopolski”, Zbigniew Witkowski was a famous local entrepreneur. It included, among others: the four-star Pałacyk Konin hotel in the city center and the WITYNG resort in Mikorzyn.

According to the Wielkopolska daily, the deceased was also the owner of the Domcar company, which sells new and used cars. The man drove around the city in luxury cars.

Zbigniew Witkowski had expressive views
As the Konin Nasza Miasto portal writes, the businessman became famous in March 2023, when cards with quite clear inscriptions appeared on the doors of the Konin Palace. They proclaimed “an entry ban for commies and SLD” and also “Whoever votes for Tusk, votes for Hitler.”
