Zayn Malik has canceled several upcoming US dates on his tour following the death of his former bandmate Liam Payne.
“In view of the heartbreaking loss,” the singer has decided to postpone the upcoming US concerts, as he announced in his Instagram stories, among other things. The current plan is to play the shows next January instead. He wants to inform his fans about the new dates as soon as possible – probably in the coming days. Tickets should remain valid. Finally, Malik thanks the fans for their understanding.
Performances in the UK are also on the tour schedule for November and December. According to British media reports, these are not affected by postponements.
Zayn Malik has “lost a brother” with Liam Payne
Liam Payne died a few days ago at the age of just 31 after falling from the balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Malik had himself later in a very personal Instagram message said goodbye to his former bandmate. “Liam, I found myself speaking loudly to you hoping you could hear me,” the singer wrote. He was never able to thank him “for supporting me through some of the most difficult times of my life.” Malik “lost a brother when you left us, and I can’t explain to you what I would give to hold you in my arms one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I love you loved and respected very much.”
