Zayn Malik (31) is canceling the American part of his tour due to the sudden death of his One Direction colleague Liam Payne, he wrote on Instagram on Saturday. His STAIRWAY TO THE SKY tour was scheduled to begin Wednesday in San Francisco.
“I love you all and thank you for your understanding”
“Due to the heartbreaking loss we experienced this week, I have decided to cancel the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour,” Zayn wrote. The shows will be moved to January and the singer says he will announce new dates in a few days. “I love you all and thank you for your understanding,” he concluded.
Zayn responded to Liam’s death last Thursday with an emotional message on Instagram. He then wrote, among other things, that Liam was like a brother to him and that he was the most musically talented of all the members of One Direction.
Liam Payne, 31, died last Wednesday after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
