(Vatican News) The Zayed Prize Jury recently announced that the deadline for nomination of candidates for the 2024 Zayed Prize is October 31 this year. The award, which includes a million-dollar prize, is awarded to an individual or organization that has “made a special contribution to human progress and peaceful coexistence.”
The members of this year’s Zayed Prize Jury come from diverse backgrounds. They are: Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Emeritus Prefect of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches of the Holy See, Ms. Megawati Sukarnoputri, former President of Indonesia, Rebeca Grynspan Mayufis, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, International Religious Affairs of the United States Lawyer Abraham Cooper, Chairman of the Freedom Committee, Ms. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, and Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Zayed Prize.
Judge Abdul Salam said in the announcement: “This year’s jury represents a variety of backgrounds, cultures, fields and regions, from Africa to North and South America, from Asia to Europe, as we hope to recommend to us The candidates are also diverse. Nominations from around the world can be sent to the official Zayed Prize website.
