Zayed Humanitarian Day celebrated by Emirates Down Syndrome community

DUBAI, 10th April, 2020 (WAM) — The Emirates Down Syndrome Association organized its annual celebration on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th of Ramadan every year, in the presence of the chairman and members of its board of directors, a number of officials, and people with Down syndrome and their families.

During the ceremony, which was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, volunteers from the members of the association’s board of directors, advisors and parents who contributed to the support and service of the association were honored.

Dr. Manal Jaarour, Chairperson of the Emirates Down Syndrome Society, said that holding this annual event in the holy month of Ramadan contributes to the consolidation of the values ​​of originality and the Arab and Islamic heritage in society, and it is a living translation of the directives of our wise leadership with an insightful vision at all levels, including volunteer work.

She praised all the sponsors and volunteers who made great efforts with love and sincerity and contributed to the sustainability of the association’s resources and the development of its services.

For her part, Nawal Al Haj Al Nasser, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, stated that this annual meeting in the blessed month of Ramadan aims to strengthen the bonds of community bonding and cohesion in all its categories and enhances the integration of people of determination into society, stressing the importance of humanitarian and voluntary work and community cooperation that we inherited from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.
