ABU DHABI, 8 October / WAM / The Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination has concluded a joint memorandum of understanding with Southwestern University in the Philippines, represented by the College of Health Sciences and Medical Rehabilitation, to enhance and implement cooperation to train students of the College of Physical and Occupational Therapy from the university in the health care management departments of the organization’s care and rehabilitation centers. Under the memorandum of understanding, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination provides an applied clinical training program for students graduating from the Physical and Occupational Therapy program, and logistical support for students of the College of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation at Southwestern University in the field of physical and occupational therapy. The duration of this clinical training extends to 480 hours of rehabilitation training. Children at a rate not exceeding 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week, with the trainees’ performance being monitored by a specialized work team from the institution who holds advanced degrees (Master’s and Doctorate) to be a qualified and capable therapist to cover the supervision and training needs of external therapeutic rehabilitation students.
Through the memorandum of understanding, Southwestern University will nominate a maximum of 6 trainees per semester for a period of no less than two months before the start of the training process, with a commitment to educate them about applying the concepts of customer service, personal service, public safety and security in the provision of physical therapy services.
