Zaragoza City Council to Begin Second Phase of Renovation Works on Sagasta Paseo Supply Pipeline – Traffic Plan in Place – News and Updates

On Monday, February 12, Zaragoza City Council will begin the second part of the decisive phase of the renovation works on the Sagasta Paseo supply pipeline, which is part of the city’s arterial network and involves an investment of 1. 1 million euros. The work arrived two weeks ago at the intersection of the promenade with Camino de las Torres and Juan Pablo Bonet Street, and involved the implementation of a signaling operation, diversion of road traffic routes and modification of transport routes public. Now, new changes are made to mobility for the second part. It is one of the most complicated points from the point of view of road traffic because it is an area through which around 50,000 vehicles circulate every day.

For this reason, both the Local Police and the Mobility and Infrastructure services have designed a special traffic plan that attempts to limit the effects on citizens. However, and as a first recommendation, the City Council suggests avoiding driving in this environment while the works last and following the instructions of the agents at all times.
Starting on Monday, February 12, the second phase will be carried out at the crossing, guaranteeing traffic from Camino de las Torres to Juan Pablo Bonet (which recovers its usual direction) and diverting the opposite direction. This time, traffic coming from San Juan de la Cruz must be diverted through Carrera del Sábado, Calle Sevilla, Glorieta Diego Velazquez and María Moliner or Paseo Sagasta to access Camino de las Torres. You can travel in a single lane on Juan Pablo Bonet to turn off to the right either onto Gascón de Gotor or Paseo Sagasta.
Bus line 24 will continue to be diverted as it was, from San Juan de la Cruz along Calle Martín Ruizanglada and Avenida Goya to reach Tenor Fleta, in coordination with AVANZA. Likewise, the Juan Pablo Bonet bike lane towards Camino de las Torres will continue to be closed. The left turn to Gascón de Gotor will once again be authorized only for buses and prohibited parking will continue in Martín Ruizanglada (10 meters next to Goya for bus turn to the right) and on both sides of the Carrera del Sábado section between Juan Pablo Bonet and Seville.

GALÁN BERGUA AND DETOUR LINE 33
On the other hand, to replace the continuous drain at number 1 of Galán Bergua, at the height of Avenida de Madrid, from February 12 to 16, a road crossing will be carried out in independent phases to guarantee road traffic. 10 meters of battery parking will be prohibited. The affected bus line (33) is diverted, in coordination with AVANZA.

FROM TOMAS ZUMALACAR STREET
For the renewal of the supply pipe (after the renewal of the sanitation collector) between Catalina Salazar and Arzobispo Domenech streets, from February 10 to March 9, the road in said section will remain closed. The affected garages will continue entering and exiting through Arzobispo Domenech either from Miguel de Cervantes or from Zumalacárregui depending on the progress of the work, leaving both streets and Calle Salazar in a cul-de-sac and two-way traffic. Parking remains prohibited in: the affected section of Zumalacárregui, throughout Salazar Street (where the construction material will be located) and in the section of Miguel de Cervantes between Domenech and Salazar (except on the even number side between Mercadona and Salazar Street).

SANTA GEMA STREET
To carry out a new discharge attack at number 19 Santa Gema Street, from February 12 to 15, the road will be cut (from Canal Street where traffic will be diverted), leaving it at the bottom of the road. and two-way traffic for the entrance and exit of affected garages (via Canal Street or Canal Road).
