Zaorálek: Cultural events will not be canceled, they are safe

Zaorálek wrote on Twitter that he consulted with Hamáček on the whole matter, and both allegedly agreed that cultural events were not in danger.

“The chief hygienist confirmed that in registered cases from theaters, etc., hygiene does not record any outbreaks. Events where people sit, have drapes and basic hygiene rules are followed, they are safe, “said Zaorálek.

In response to Hamáček’s words about the cancellation of mass events, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) said that he could support him. However, according to him, the decision must be made by experts.

“It is necessary for those who have the competence to make that decision, and that is epidemiologists, and of course it is healthcare. I don’t have a problem with that, but neither Mr. Hamáček nor I are epidemiologists, “said Babiš.

According to the latest published data, the Ministry of Health registers 21,909 active cases of the infection, while on Friday covid-19 was confirmed in 2,111 people. However, it is not clear how high the number of tests was, as the system failed during the day.

Veils are currently mandatory in all enclosed spaces and public transportation. Collective events are limited to 500 people indoors, with the proviso that in the event of the premises being divided into separate sectors, spaces with a capacity of up to 1,000 people and more than 1,000 people can be filled under specific conditions.

In the case of outdoor events, the limit is 1000 people, while in the case of separate sectors, capacity may increase. In some regions, however, the obligation to wear veils will also apply to outdoor events from Monday.
