Zaniolo answered Mourinho’s belief by scoring one goal and one assist against Zorya. He provided the assist for Tammy Abraham’s first goal.
Suggested Jose Mourinho admitted Nicolo Zaniolo made him reflect. He is happy to be able to repay Mourinho’s trust with his performance this time.
“I can play there, I can play wide, I can play anywhere up front. The coach told me to play there and I’m fully ready for the team,” Zaniolo told reporters. Sky Sport Italy.
“Sitting on the bench makes me reflect. I accept the coach’s decision. I like to be under pressure and respond on the field.”
“Mourinho taught me not to settle for good performances, that we must always ask for more from ourselves and keep improving,” said Zaniolo.
