Nicholas Zaniolo seems to be headed for the exit AS Roma. Roma entered the name of the 23-year-old striker on the transfer list.
Zaniolo is still under contract with Roma until 2024. However, talks about a contract renewal which have been going on for several months have also shown no progress.
Zaniolo’s performance on the field was not satisfactory. Recently, fans who were dissatisfied with Zaniolo’s performance cheered him on during Roma’s 1-0 win over Genoa in the Coppa Italia last week.
The cheers from the supporters, according to a Calciomercato.com report, made Zaniolo’s patience run out. Zaniolo, who then missed the next match against Fiorentina due to illness, was annoyed and asked his agent to find a new club.
Roma are also open to selling Zaniolo. According to a report by Sky Sport, Roma have officially included Zaniolo on the transfer list and are waiting for offers from overseas clubs.
Roma set a price of 35-40 million euros for Zaniolo. A number of Premier League clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are said to be interested in the former Inter Milan player.
Nicolo Zaniolo this season has only scored two goals and three assists in 17 appearances in all competitions with Roma. Since joining I Lupi in 2018, Zaniolo has made 24 goals and 18 assists in 128 appearances.
