Zamorano youtuber Daniel Alonso (Yo Soy Plex) arrived on the set of El Hormiguero for the first time last night. And there he was able to remember his beginnings on the platform with a video of himself when he was just a child and which he recorded from his room in Toro. This 22-year-old young man from Tores has a whopping 12.8 million subscribers on YouTube. But before that, Daniel was a teenager who, even under another pseudonym, was eager to get 100,000 followers. Very young and from his house in Toro, the young man already had 2,600 followers and recorded a video warning that “I’m going to get it.”
“I remember that moment, I was studying and I realized that I didn’t want to do that, I was letting off steam and convincing myself that I could achieve something like that,” explained the young man in El Hormiguero. And boy did he do it.

Daniel started with “video game tutorials and then I made videos with my sister, especially during the pandemic, until I moved to Madrid with my friends when I was 17.” With them he made prank videos and then came the leap to travel, where he has already achieved worldwide fame.
Plex has toured the world twice, in 80 and 85 days, recording all his adventures on video for his millions of followers. When Pablo Motos asked him what he thinks is the key to his success, the man from Tores does not know how to specify, but he believes that his followers empathize with him because “we show everyday problems” and he thinks that “what people like most is naturalness, I am the same person now as I was later in the dressing room”.
“You have to try”
During his interview, Daniel also left some advice for his followers. He has achieved world fame and from the first moment he was clear that this would be the case, so he encourages young people who want to dedicate themselves to creating content on networks to try it.
“You have to try, because the next one could be you,” he pointed out in El Hormiguero. Plex has pointed out the importance of continuing to study and train, but he does not want to “kill anyone’s dream.” He is convinced that “there are people who can be like me tomorrow and you only live once.”
