Zamalek will face Chadian rival Gazelle in the 32nd round of the African Champions League competition, after the withdrawal of Djibouti’s champion Siyaf team.
According to the official page of the Chadian club Gazelle, the Djibouti champion did not attend the first leg, which would expose him to sanctions by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
It is scheduled that Zamalek will meet the Chadian champion next month, according to the club’s official page, where the first-leg match will be held in Chad, with the return leg in Egypt.
Zamalek had fought last Friday night in the African Champions League final, but the white team lost the championship at the hands of its rival Al-Ahly with two goals to one.
Zamalek has five CAF Champions League titles in its possession, where it is equal to the Congolese team Mazembe with the same number of championships and four titles ahead of Al-Ahly alone at the top.
It is worth noting that Zamalek was his last coronation in the CAF Champions League, back in 2002, after defeating Morocco’s Raja Casablanca.
