Ahmed Salem, the official spokesman for Zamalek Club, denied reports that indicated the arrival of an official offer from an external club to include Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”, the team’s star, in the next Mercato.

Reports had indicated that the Saudi Al-Shabab Club sent an offer to Zamalek officials to include “Zizou” during the winter transfer period next January, with a value reaching $6 million.

Salem said in statements to the Zamalek Club channel, on Saturday evening: “There is no official offer received regarding (Zizou). Everything that is being said on social media pages is not true at all.”

He added: “When an official offer arrives, it will be announced immediately that the club has received an offer from a specific club for this amount (there is nothing to hide).”

The Zamalek spokesman continued: “Zizou, the main star of the team, is performing a wonderful season with his teammates within the limits of what is available and possible, but he has no offers. If there is an offer, it will be presented to public opinion, and rejection or acceptance will be according to the council’s decision.”

“Zizou” managed to score 7 goals in 11 matches this season in the club’s white shirt in various competitions.

He also reached goal No. 73 in a Zamalek shirt in all competitions, one goal behind Gamal Hamza, who is in seventh place in the club’s top scorers’ ranking.

It is noteworthy that Zizou’s current contract with Zamalek continues until 2025, and there is no penalty clause.
