Huo Zhiying challenged the Shek Kong Marathon in 1979. This “first horse” caused blisters on his feet, and he was almost unable to move in pain for three consecutive days. However, he continued to participate in marathons to challenge himself. After joining the Zacks Mart in 1997, he has never missed this sports event. Only in 2000, when he was unwell, he switched to running the half-marathon. He pointed out that he had many impressive experiences over the years. He said: “The Zacks Mart made me meet many friends , In 2004, I pushed each other with my runners, and finally finished the race within 3.5 hours. I thought I was insulated from “330”. As for 2007, when I practiced toe flick, I was admitted to the hospital for surgery the next day after finishing the bad horse. People say I won’t be able to run in the future, but I just want to keep running after surgery.”
The reason for insisting on running, Huo Zhiying admitted that in order to challenge himself, “Running a marathon is really hard. It is really hard work for one minute on stage and ten years off stage. When I said that I would run to 60 years old, I felt that I had fulfilled my promise to myself.” Affected by the epidemic in recent years, he admits that his performance has deteriorated, but he is still determined to participate and looks forward to setting up a public cheer zone near the finish line.
