Zaldívar did everything possible to clean up the PJ of corruption: López Obrador

Mexico City. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador described as “honorable” the former president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Arturo Zaldívar, “who did everything possible to cleanse the Judiciary of corruption.”

Yesterday, the minister was appointed by the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheimbaum Pardo, as coordinator of policy and government of the Presidency of the Republic.

In the morning press conference on Friday, when asked about the minister and his incorporation into the team of the future federal president, the head of the Executive stressed that the collaborators of his next successor are made up of capable personalities, which is why he said he was satisfied with these appointments.

In the case of Zaldívar, he said that he is a very experienced and knowledgeable professional who will help the President.

“When he was president of the Court, he did everything possible to cleanse the Judiciary of corruption, nothing more than a very advanced cancer that requires a major intervention to be able to remove it, sanitize and cleanse this sick body that is the Judiciary, from that cancer that is corruption.

“Who can do it? The people. The best method is the democratic method, that the people help. Because I know that he, in his reports, spoke of corruption, he was very honest, because all the previous presidents of the Court, and less so now (with Norma Piña), did not speak of that subject. And he began to speak of corruption and he began to speak of nepotism.”

Ironically, the federal president said that the Judicial Branch is like the DIF. “It seems that the DIF is the Family Court, it is a family institution, among other things.”
