ZAKSA defeated Zawiercian and will play in the final with Skra

In the second match of the PGE Skra Jubilee Tournament in Bełchatów, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle faced Aluron CMC Zawiercie. Zawiercie won the first set quite confidently, but then the initiative was taken over by the charges of coach Nikola Grbic. The Kędzierzyn players won the entire game 3: 1 and will play in tomorrow’s final against Skra.

The team of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle (4: 1) started the first set in the second match of the tournament in Bełchatów better. Among the contents, however, he surprised his opponents with a service Patrick of Germany and after a while the result showed a draw. He also did a great job in this element Paweł Halaba, thanks to which Aluron came to a three-point lead (9: 6). In the end, the Kędzierzyn residents responded the same when they appeared in the service field David Smith, thanks to which ZAKSA was only one point behind its opponents. However, she did not manage to take the lead and in the end this concluding they were closer to winning thanks to their attacks (20:16). At the end, he also made a point service Mateusz Malinowski and after a while it was Aluron who could enjoy the victory in this set (25:21).

At the beginning of the second game, the previous winners took the two-point lead after a point serve Paweł Halaba (4: 2). However, he did a great job among Kędzierzyn-goers David Smith and after a while the result showed a draw. This motivated the team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle, which, with the help of the block, gained two valuable points of advantage (9: 7). Neither team was going to give up, which meant that a fierce point-for-point battle continued for a long time. It was just a great play Mateusz Malinowski allowed the Zawiercianom to even the score (17:17), which made the competition even more aggressive in this set. In the end, however, it was the Kędzierzyn players who managed to win a very long action, thanks to which ZAKSA returned to the two-point lead (21:19). After all, it was only the game with the advantage that revealed the winner of this game, who after a successful block turned out to be the team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle (29:27).

The third set was better opened by Kędzierzyn-goers, who immediately took a five-point lead at the service Benjamin Toniuttiego (5: 0). Moreover, in the team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle he was doing great Łukasz Kaczmarek, thanks to which the team easily maintained the gained advantage also in the middle of the set (15:10). Zawiercianie did not help each other by making their own mistakes, which brought their rivals closer to winning this set. Only towards the end did they manage to slightly improve their score after a net attack David Smith (16:19). However, it was too little to stop ZAKSA, which was rushing in this party. Ultimately, the successful attack decided about the victory of the Kędzierzyn inhabitants Krzysztofa Rhine (25:20).

The fourth game was better opened by the previous winners, who after great plays Alexander Śliwka they took a four-point lead (5: 1). This time their rivals managed to even the result after the mistakes of the Kędzierzyn players’ own team (12:12) and to intensify the competition in this set. Thus, the point-for-point fight began, which was interrupted by a net attack Kamila Semeniuka giving the concerts two precious stitches an advantage (16:14). However, there was a quick change in the lead, when Semeniuk appeared in the service field and “treated” his rivals with three-point serves (19:16). From that moment on, ZAKSA did not allow itself to take away the victory in this set, which ended with a mistake of the team from Zawiercie (22:25).
