Zakharova warned of the “very serious consequences” those who intend to intervene during the SVO

Commenting on the initiative by Paris to intervene on the situation with the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned today, December 15, of the “most serious consequences” for anyone who tries to prevent Russia from conducting a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine.

“Regarding the words of the French leader [Эммануэля Макрона] about the readiness, as he said, to timely intervene to protect the Zaporizhzhya NPP, then this really needs to be deciphered, because there can be many interpretations here. she pointed out.

“In this regard, I would like to warn anyone who wants to intervene in the course of a special military operation in Ukraine about the most serious consequences of such an extremely irresponsible and extremely dangerous step”, stressed the diplomat.

“And if we are talking about the threat of a nuclear facility, then, it seems to me, the whole danger of such an improvised one is not worth repeating once again,” Zakharova added.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that Russia is discussing the parameters of the declaration on the creation of a protection zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in the framework of direct contacts with the IAEA Secretariat and the Director General of the Agency Raffaele Grossi.

“Intermediaries, as you understand, are not in demand. The French side does not participate in this process”, she said.

“If French colleagues were really concerned about the safety of the ZNPP, then France, as a responsible nuclear power, should have been the first to ask the Kiev regime to stop bombing this facility. Instead the French, guided by other considerations, use every opportunity to publicize their pseudo-efforts to normalize the situation. Zakharova explained Moscow’s position.
