Attempts to forget the role of Russia in the liberation of Bulgaria will never meet the support of the Bulgarian citizens.
This was announced by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, TASS reported.
Today she spoke to Russian media. She announced that she had been watching the National Day celebrations last week.
“During the celebrations, an attempt was made to ignore the role of Russia in the liberation of Bulgaria. I see in this disrespect for one’s own past and heroic ancestors. I am convinced that this will never meet the support of true Bulgarian patriots who defend their past. They support the tradition of friendship between our peoples,” Zakharova announced.
She announced that she had seen many monuments honoring the heroism of both Russians and Bulgarians, covered with bouquets. Many messages of thanks have also been received at the Russian Embassy.
