Last night, in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Summer League tournament, Artūrs Žagar and the Washington “Wizards” beat the Phoenix “Suns” basketball players with a score of 97:72. At the end of the match, the Latvian basketball player also had the opportunity to make his debut in the Summer League.
Žagar spent three minutes and 45 seconds on the court, during which he scored two points (2nd p. 1/1; 3rd p. 0/1), made one error, and ended the duel with a +/- indicator of -8, which was the worst in the winning team. The Latvian scored points after a mistake by the opponents, who intercepted the ball and made a shot from under the basket.
Vernon Carey led the Wizards with 15 points, and the center grabbed 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, reserve Jaime Ehenik helped with 12 points, who also added six rebounds, while Johnny Davis and Tyler Hall each had 11 points.
Tyson Carter was the most successful for the losers with 12 points and four rebounds, while Ish Wainwright had 11 points and five rebounds. On the other hand, 10 points were scored by striker Lewis King, who was able to hit only two of the 11 shots from the game.
