Of cinema version of Justice League will be especially remembered for the digitally crushed face of Henry Cavills Superman, whose mustache had to be put away. It does Zack Snyder good that with his film he can make that meme face forget. He says that in an interview with MTV.
“I only know that face from the memes“says the director in the interview to promote Zack Snyder’s Justice League. “Somehow I am glad that we were able to prevent him from just remembering that after ten years of hard work“Snyder continues.”That would have been sad“.
Then the cast by Joss Whedon, written by Warner Bros. was hired to Justice League After Snyder’s departure, was called up for the re-recordings, Cavill was now busy with Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He had grown a mustache for that role and it couldn’t just come off.
More haste less speed
That’s why his mustache had to be digitally removed. And with only a few months to release, it had to be pretty hasty. The result was therefore – with all due respect for the hard work of the VFX teams – not really great. Cavill’s digitally edited face soon became the butt of ridicule and, as it is today, a source of inspiration for all kinds of memes.
In retrospect, now that the “#SnyderCut” has come out, you may also wonder if it was necessary to re-record Cavill’s scenes at all. After all, the scenes of Cavill that Snyder had shot were fine and could have just been taken over by Whedon without all this hassle.
