Zacatecas, Zac.- Because a priority of Governor David Monreal Ávila is to guarantee the population quality medical services through full compliance with the programs; Today, this effort is paying off and thanks to the work of the Ministry of Health (SSZ), together with other institutions in the sector, Zacatecas obtained the first national place in child vaccination, during the first quarter of 2023.
José Luis Díaz Ortega, general director of the National Center for the Health of Children and Adolescents (CENSIA), sent the results of the measurement that this institution carried out to evaluate the vaccination programs for children that the Government of Mexico currently implements in the National territory.
In the application of the BCG vaccine in girls and boys under 1 year of age, Zacatecas reached 99 percent coverage, the same percentage that was reached in the administration of the hexavalent vaccine, which protects infants against diphtheria, whooping cough, hepatitis B, tetanus, polio, pneumonia and meningitis.
Similarly, this state has 99 percent compliance with the vaccination goals against rotavirus and pneumococcus in its second dose; while in the hexavalent vaccine for 1-year-old girls and boys, 99.4 percent was reached.
Other vaccines that are also part of this scheme are the SRP that protects against measles, rubella and mumps, as well as the DPT indicated for protection against diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus, in which 99 percent was also reached.
