The second edition of the Zaanbocht Run was scheduled for May 15, 2022. Unfortunately, that edition could not take place due to work on the Zaanbrug. Another date was scheduled. Now on September 3, 2023.
But that will not be the case: the organization of the Zaanbocht Run has announced that this date cannot take place either.
In a press release, the organization states that ‘safety comes first’. Although the organization of the second edition seemed to be in order, a problem arose. Safety cannot be guaranteed on either the side of the municipality of Zaanstad or the municipality of Wormerland. The problems would include traffic disruption and street disruptions on the route.
The organization has decided to move the second edition of the run to May 2024. The new Zaanbrug will then be ready and should no longer cause problems. In fact, the bridge can then be ‘initiated in a sporty way’. All participants of the Zaanbocht Run have already been informed.
