This competition was created by the association Les Tribuns de Saint-Germain (Yvelines).
On Saturday March 26, the Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye eloquence association, called the Tribuns de Saint-Germain, is organizing the second edition of its competition. Since its launch, the latter has had a special feature: only students from Sciences Po Saint-germain-en-Laye can attend.
“Enable the spotlighting of female talents”
“The desire was born last year to create this prize for public speaking in a chosen non-mixed way. The idea is to allow the highlighting of female talents, still too underestimated when it comes to speaking. It is a fight that we carry within the association whose office is mainly female, which is quite rare in the middle of eloquence. »
Prior to the event, the association has planned to organize two sessions during which it will help the competitors to prepare, find subjects and write them.
“For confirmed speakers or beginners”
“This is aimed as much at confirmed speakers as at students who have never taken part in this type of competition. The objective is also to get out of the usual framework, which can be very pressurizing, to rather have a very benevolent framework. The idea and to have candidates who can do this competition in the most benevolent spirit of sorority possible. »
After a first edition organized remotely, the competition on Saturday March 26 will be open to all audiences, even outside Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
A jury chaired by Laetitia Mampaka, the queen of eloquence
The jury, made up of female figures such as Frédérique Martz, co-founder and general manager of the Women Safe & Children Institute, will be chaired by the Belgian Laetitia Mampaka, a star in the world of eloquence.
“This talented speaker who supports our association. She made the speaking of women in the medium of eloquence, which is a very masculine medium, her fight. Before the competition, she will give a lecture in the afternoon. »
Another particularity of the competition, it will not give rise to the establishment of a ranking, but to the delivery of favourites: that of the best speaker, the originality of the emotion….
Masterclass by Laetitia Mampaka from 2 to 4 p.m. Start of the eloquence contest at 7 p.m. Sciences Po Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 5, rue Pasteur.
