To accompany this deconfinement “Gourmet or cafes”, as the mayor of Saint-Germain-en-Laye (Yvelines), Arnaud Pericard, the City wished to take several key measures from the May 19.
The city council unveiled them during a meeting organized on Tuesday, May 11 to which all restaurant owners were invited.
First of all, the municipality decided not to charge them thepublic space that can be used as part of the extension or creation of terraces.
“We will allow our restaurants, cafes and other bistros to be able to spread out on public roads as much as possible and we will not charge anything. This is the commitment we made last year and we are making it today. All extensions will be free. “
About fifty creations or extensions
In total, the City would record nearly fifty extensions or creations of terraces on the occasion of this stage of deconfinement.
As had already been done the previous time, places of parking can be neutralized to make them possible.
Until October 3
This support from the City is scheduled until October 3. From this date, the spaces conquered on the public highway must be freed.
In return, the City asked the beneficiaries to respect certain rules. Establishments are therefore asked to obviously respect all the constraints related to sanitary protocol, but also not to use disposable dishes in order to help maintain the cleanliness of the spaces.
No disposable dishes
The beneficiaries will also have to ensure that the terraces are made with aesthetic furniture and undertake to guarantee the spaces dedicated to the circulation of security vehicles and maintain the path of pedestrians.
A minimum space of 1.40 meters must therefore be guaranteed on the sidewalks for their passage.
Free parking from 6 p.m.
The City has also taken a second important measure to accompany this reopening of May 19 by deciding free parking from 6 p.m. throughout the city from May 19 to June 9.
