Brigitte Lesgourgues (DVD) and Christophe Bentz (VIA) won over 2,800 voters (15.58% of the vote) in the first round of departmental elections in the canton of Saint-Germain-en-Laye with their partner “Renouveau pour les Yvelines” . The candidates came in third position behind Keyne Richard (EELV) and Alicia Castigliego (DVG), who gathered 22.6% of the vote, and the mayor of the royal city, Arnaud Péricard (DVD), associated with the elected alpicoise Gwendoline Desforges (LR), who positioned themselves very well in the lead with nearly 62% of the votes (61.82%). Brigitte Lesgourgues and Christophe Bentz congratulated themselves in a press release on their score “in clear progress compared to the municipal ones” before indicating “their inability to vote in the second round for the pair of union of the left, of which they do not share nor the project, nor the ideas, but also for the pair made up of Arnaud Péricard and Gwendoline Desforges ”.
An opposition to macronism
The Yvelinois have advanced several reasons for this.

Brigitte Lesgourgues and Christophe Bentz then underline that they oppose “at the national level to macronism, its drifts and its failures. However, the departmental majority (EPY), of which Arnaud Péricard and Gwendoline Desforges are part, has forged an alliance between Les Républicains and La République en Marche, the party of Emmanuel Macron. We consider this alliance against nature and not corresponding to the expectations of right-wing voters. “
Pierre Bedier pinned
Finally, the Yvelinois target in their press release the current President of the Department of Yvelines, Pierre Bedier, candidate for his own succession. “We reject the methods of Pierre Bedier, whose judicial sentences and patronage with Islamism regularly pinned down in the press, are real foils, even in the ranks of local LR supporters. However, Pierre Bedier has dubbed the pair of Arnaud Péricard and Gwendoline Desforges who is proud of this sulphurous support. “Brigitte Lesgourgues and Christophe Bentz conclude that” for all these reasons, on June 27 they will slip a blank ballot into the ballot box.
