Two men aged 16 and 20 were arrested by police from Versailles (Yvelines), this September 14, 2020.
They were wanted following the‘aggression of two old people, at Chesnay-Rocquencourt (Yvelines). They had torn their gold necklaces.
The facts go back to this summer, Friday August 21. A few hours apart, two ladies aged 73 and 85 had been assaulted near the town hall. In addition to the trauma they had experienced, they had lost their necklaces, torn off by the duo.
The police go back in time
Looking at the City’s CCTV footage, police had stepped back in time, spotting the two men entering a supermarket. It was just before the assaults.
By going there, the investigators learned that they had made a purchase with a bank card. The payment method had referred to St Denis (dept. 93). By adding telephony, the agents had clearly established that they were together at the scene of the attacks.
Recognized by victims
From photographs, the two victims formally recognized their attackers.
On September 14, the two men were therefore arrested and taken into police custody.
The oldest was imprisoned in Bois-d’Arcy remand center, pending his trial, scheduled for October 12. He exercised his right to silence.
The teenager was released, in a case of contact with Covid-19. He will be reconvened.
