Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra said his party would continue to consistently support Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
“God willing, the UN will remain consistent with Pak Prabowo Subianto,” Yusril said in his speech at the UN Zone II Consolidation event at the DBL Arena, Surabaya, Sunday (3/9).
He said the UN decision was unanimous. They also admit that they will consistently be in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), with Gerindra, Golkar and PAN.
“We make decisions, always consult, together. ‘Faaidza azamta fatawakkal ‘alaAllah’, once you make a decision then implement it with trust in God,” he said.
Alluded to PKB to SBY
Yusril then insinuated that another party had defected to another coalition. The party that has just shifted support from Prabowo is PKB.
PKB together with NasDem then declared Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) as potential presidential and vice presidential candidates.
The move by PKB and NasDem later disappointed the Democrats, earning the wrath of the Chairman of the Upper House of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), who viewed the move as a betrayal.
“Yesterday he [SBY] angry on TV, he said ‘traitor’,” he said.
The former Minister of State Secretary during the SBY era also promised that his party would not commit treason or something similar. The United Nations, he said, is a straight party.
“The UN doesn’t take turns, it doesn’t surprise Pak SBY, God willing, it won’t surprise Pak Prabowo. The PBB is straight,” he concluded. (frd)
