Yusei Yagi’s first overseas solo fan meeting “YUSEI YAGI “O’ver” 1st ASIA FAN MEETING IN TAIPEI” will be held in Taiwan tonight. After arriving in Taiwan, he conducted a joint interview with Taiwanese media.

I am very happy to come to Taiwan today. Before departure, I saw the Hualien earthquake on the news, which made me sad and a little uneasy. I didn’t know whether I should complete this activity, but after thinking about it carefully, I feel that it is at this time that I hope to meet everyone and have fun through entertainment. Here to give you encouragement and courage, I hope this memorable first meeting can be with you.
ーAt the airport just now, a fan wrote “national treasure handsome guy”. Can you share your thoughts with us?
I was really surprised to see so many people at the airport just now, but also very happy. There are also many people who specially made support cards, and you can feel the full love from everyone. As for seeing the “handsome national treasure”, I felt a little shy, but I was also really happy.
ーThis is my first time as an individual to hold a Fan Meeting in Taiwan. Can you talk about your current state of mind and your expectations for tonight’s event?
It’s my first time to travel overseas and hold a meet-and-greet event in Taiwan. I’m looking forward to meeting Taiwanese fans. There are also many Japanese fans who flew here specially, which makes me very grateful and looking forward to tonight’s event.
ーDid you learn anything special in Chinese for your first Fan Meeting? If possible, please say a few words for the media friends present.
My name is Yagi Yusei, I am the lead singer of FANTASTICS, thank you. (Chinese) In the past, the company arranged courses for us to learn Chinese. I wanted to learn how to introduce ourselves when we come to Taipei this time, so I also looked up how to say self-introduction.
ーFANTASTICS from FANTASTICS, who have a deep connection with Taipei, will serve as Taipei tourism ambassadors. I would like to ask Yagi what impression he has of Taipei? Are there any places you particularly want to visit or food you want to try?
There are many places I want to visit, especially the night market, xiaolongbao and chicken steak. I really want to try them. There are a lot of delicious foods in Taipei. I don’t know if I have enough time, but I hope I can have the opportunity to taste them.

We actually went to Korea to shoot the MV and cover, and we also tended to design the style for KPOP. Because there were a lot of people, the performance was different, especially there were a lot of high-pitched parts. I believe this song can easily overheat the atmosphere during a concert. song.
ーI would like to ask Yagi, who has excelled in drama, how he usually interprets the roles he plays? Is there any type of role you particularly want to take on in the future?
I want to challenge roles that are completely different from myself, such as period dramas and river dramas. Also, I have played bright characters before, and I hope to have the opportunity to play characters with dark personalities and dual sides.
ーI heard that Leiya and I traveled to Hawaii together before. Do you have any interesting stories from the trip that you can share with us? Also, if you have time, which group member would you like to travel with next time?
I used to go overseas with my group members, but when I have the opportunity, I want to go overseas with the Sandaime Iwata and Omi.
ーMr. Yagi often mentioned in interviews that he would go drinking with Takanori Iwata or Ryosuke Yamada. What was the opportunity to become good friends with these two?
I went to stay at Omi’s house before, and Iwata was also there when we were drinking. I originally thought he was cool and reserved, but in fact he was very gentle and talked to me, and I thought he was a senior who I respected a lot. I also met Yamada at Omi’s house. As soon as we met, I felt that the conversation was very congenial and made me respect him very much.
ーIt is said that Mr. Yagi is very good at eating. Can you share with us your exercise menu and routine to stay in shape?
Of course, heavy training and fitness are indispensable, but I think it is very important to eat amino acids before breakfast. After eating breakfast, the body will also start to move.
ーApril 4th happened to be Children’s Day two days ago. I would like to ask Mr. Yagi what kind of personality he was when he was a child.
When I was a child and now, I have a pretty gentle personality. I don’t get angry with others very much, and I don’t get on with others. I don’t want my relationship with my friends to get worse, and I hope everyone can get along peacefully. In addition, I am really not good at mathematics and have never had much concept of numbers. This has not changed until now.
ーMr. Yagi used to launch personal peripherals “Yagi Hana” and black cats at FANTASTICS concerts. I would like to ask how such cute peripherals were born?
These two are the characters I drew. Cauliflower is because I like cauliflower very much and it is the only vegetable with protein. I added the Japanese pronunciation of “八” in its name to become “Yagi Cauliflower”. Black cats are my pets since childhood. As for this meet-and-greet, although there is no special design, I participated in the design and development of the song, including the song title “O’ver”.
ーMy birthday is coming next month, what are your wishes?
I am already 27 years old, and I feel that I am about to enter my thirties. I need to be more cautious about my speech and actions, and hope to become a respectable and mature man.
