ANNOUNCEMENTS•
Comedian Yunus Aktas has won the Cameretten Festival at the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague. Lui received both the Jury and Audience Awards at the 56th Cabaret Festival.
According to the judging panel, Aktas, a member of the Comedytrain cabaret troupe, plays the underdog and loser with panache. “Yunus has a great sense of timing. His lines are spot on and surprisingly spot on.”
“The judges see that Yunus has experience as a stand-up comedian; he is skilled and good. Yunus has a lot of laughs, is an endearing personality, and his dry comedic talent is exceptional.”
Talent incubator
Other finalists this year were brothers Joey & Dave and Selma Visscher. Together with Aktas, they will tour nearly sixty places in the country, starting on December 2 in Bovenkarspel.
The bedrooms are considered a hotbed of talent. In the past, the festival has been a breakthrough for comedians such as Herman Finkers, Paul de Leeuw, Plien en Bianca and Jandino Asporaat, also a Comedytrain alumnus.
Last year, Thjum Arts won the festival in The Hague, which was not held a year earlier due to corona.
