The residence of the mayor of Quito, Jorge Yunda, was raided at dawn on March 11, 2021, within the process on the purchase of covid-19 tests with alleged irregularities. The information was confirmed by his lawyer, Juan Pablo Albán.
At the moment it is known that in the diligence “technological, information technology equipment, computers, CPUs, documents” were seized.
Albán indicated that the agents of Prosecutor’s office a laptop belonging to his daughter was also removed from the mayor’s house.
The Prosecutor’s Office has not yet ruled on this diligence, which is part of the research for the alleged crime of peculation within the acquisition of the covid-19 tests carried out by the Ministry of Health of the Municipality.
