Cuban reggaeton artist Yulien Oviedo caused controversy after he exploded against several of his followers and Cuban users in general, insulting them strongly.
It all started when the Cuban met the Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Bad Bunny at the Latin Billboard Awards gala, something that he did not hesitate to boast about on his social networks, because, according to him, the ‘Bad Rabbit’ even told him that he had “tremendous flow”.
“It turns out that @badbunnypr asked me who the hell I was that had such a badass flow and I told him ‘daddy, I am the pride of my family, my neighborhood and my culture’NEW FACE IS COMIN,” he wrote to accompany the photo of their meeting, where the Puerto Rican is not even looking at him.
The situation unleashed countless ridicule from users, who questioned whether this exchange existed, and where some users even claimed to have seen the video and saw that Bad Bunny was not “not even two seconds” with the Cuban.
“Phrases that Bad Bunny never said”; “And when did they talk so much?”; “YULI Martí uploaded the video, and bad Bunny never asked you, in fact I don’t even look at you, but keep going, keep going”; “But don’t you feel sorry for him? If no one knows you there”; “Don’t kill the child’s hope, gentleman,” were some of the comments.
In the video of the meeting, indeed, it is seen that the Puerto Rican reggaeton player greets the Cuban, but practically without seeing him, and without speaking, and continues on his way while Yulien does not let go, so one of Benito’s bodyguards has to ask him to I let go.
But the controversy increased when a publication by La Familia Cubana on Instagram generated a wave of mocking comments and criticism of Yulién, who for his part responded quite aggressively.
In his responses, the Cuban defended his version of the events and attacked all the people who made fun of him, calling them “envious” and expressing his disappointment at the fact of being Cuban, stating that he was on another level, different from of its people.
Oviedo used racist and derogatory terms, such as “Indians,” to refer to those who questioned his story, which generated even more controversy on the networks, upsetting his fans.

The more damage they try to do to me, the more I become disappointed in being Cuban. The truth is that it is not known how this outburst will affect the singer, as he so harshly denies his country of origin, a situation that also overshadowed his participation in the spectacle of the Billboard Latin 2023 ceremony, which did occur and was in the company by Christian Nodal and Piso 21.
