In an exclusive interview, Yseult, singer and muse of L’Oréal Paris, answered questions from 20 Minutes about her daily habits. She doesn’t hesitate to give her fitness or beauty tips, her good addresses and share her little everyday gestures.
Waking up with you means waking up at what time?
I’m awake a lot, so it depends. Or at 5 o’clock if I have to take the plane. Or at 2 o’clock, because of insomnia.
What is your first instinct when you get up?
Sing, check my emails, do my beauty routine… And when I wake up at 2 a.m., write.
The feel-good music that you like to sing or listen to while getting ready?
“Passion fruit” by Drake. It puts me in a slightly sensual mood, I know I’m going to have a good day.
The hairstyle you do when you wake up late?
I put on a silk scarf and that’s it.
What are your beauty essentials?
The Panorama Mascara from L’Oréal Paris, because I’m worth it. I also take care of my skin morning and evening.
I avoid touching my skin with my hands during the day as much as possible because there are too many bacteria, and that’s what causes the little imperfections that we don’t really like.
Among them, which one would you choose if you could only keep one and why?
Mascara, because it’s really a product that you can use without necessarily having a full make-up. You can get up in the morning, you just put on mascara and that’s it. Or maybe a little gloss anyway. A little extra transparent gloss.
The breakfast you make yourself in the morning when you have time?
I know it’s not good, but I skip breakfast. And even when I have time, I skip breakfast except when I’m on vacation. Oddly enough, when I’m on vacation I like to get up at 7 a.m. to go to the buffet. I love citrus fruits, cut fruits. Pineapples, grapefruit, clementines…
The outfit in which you feel best every day?
It’s not very glamorous, but jogging. Black jogging pants, black sweatpants, pair of white socks, small pair of white sneakers, always with a small silk scarf. And a small luxury bag anyway because it’s the basis. And you still have to catch up on jogging. But basically, it’s black jogging pants.
If I open your bag, what will I definitely find there?
A gloss, that’s for sure! I can’t go out without a lip gloss or lip balm. You will also find a pair of headphones or headphones. In case someone sends me mixes, masters or demos that I need to listen to during the day.
I have chewing gum all the time. It’s unusual but I always have wipes in my bag, you never know.
Where do you go for lunch?
I came back from Los Angeles, and there is a really good restaurant there called “Bottega”. They do very good brunches. It’s a bit like my place there, whether it’s morning, noon and evening.
In Paris, it’s “Mon Coco” at République. It’s open until 3 to 4 a.m., they make really good arancini. There, I put it there.
A place you like to go and why?
Los Angeles, because I feel free to be 100% myself there without being judged. I’ve always been in the mood: “I love winter, I’m a winter girl…”, but in reality not at all! Summer suits me really well. My complexion, my hair, my mood are great!
I always feel fresh there. I feel free to walk around in shorts or mini-shorts, no one is going to judge me. It’s a whole world there, with the culture of sport, the culture of work, of effort. These are things that inspire me enormously. When I’m there, it’s great food, parties, meetings, madness.
Los Angeles is really a city that fits my personality. I admit that I like New York too. It’s truly a city that’s on the move, a city of culture as well. Maybe even more than Los Angeles.
Your secret to staying in shape and being in a good mood?
To travel. I understood that it helps you to know yourself, to let go, to trust the world, the people around you and come back stronger.
A final word?
I’m super happy to be able to represent all the beauties from around the world and to show that beauty is plural.
