According to a report from the state oil company, since the restart of urea production at the Ammonia and Urea Plant (PAU), 6,000 tons of urea have been sold in the domestic market, at a special price for the months of September and October. , which includes an 8% discount on the defined price of US $ 554 per ton. The sale for national producers, in that period, is US $ 510 per ton.
The manager of derived and industrialized products of YPFB, Gabriela Delgadillo, explained that the prices set by YPFB are very advantageous for national farmers, who, until now, have been buying a ton of urea abroad at a price of up to US $ 800 the ton.
The great interest aroused by farmers in Bolivian urea is also explained by the fact that the season of high demand for the fertilizer begins due to the summer season in the East for crops such as rice and corn, as well as the fertilization season for sugar cane.
With regard to potassium chloride, with the recent opening of a new point of sale for this fertilizer, YLB foresees, in an initial stage, a sales volume of approximately Bs 1.2 million, equivalent to about 500 tons a competitive, accessible and fair prices, highlighting that at this stage what is desired is to reach small and medium producers.
Sales to the domestic market to wholesale companies and producers are consolidated through other marketing modalities, and a total volume of internal sales estimated at Bs 15 million, equivalent to 10,000 tons, is expected for this management.
The Potassium Chloride Industrial Plant produces, in addition to potassium fertilizer, lithium carbonate, magnesium chloride and lithium ion batteries that are used in photovoltaic systems and in electromobility.
