Apples are one of the delicious fruits loved by young and old alike, they come in green, red and yellow colors and are grown in thousands of different countries.
Apples are very versatile and are one of the popular fruits that many people enjoy, eaten as fresh fruit or in a variety of recipes, sweet or savory.
Besides being delicious, apples have other great uses in cooking:
1. Keep the cake fresh.
Storing the pie with half an apple keeps it soft and moist.
2. Grilled chicken.
A whole chicken stuffed with apples keeps it tender and flavorful while roasting, but no apples are left after roasting.
3. Loosen the brown sugar.
Put an apple in a bag of brown sugar, seal it, and after a day or two it’s sugar-free again.
4. Ripening of unripe fruits.
The apples are placed in a paper bag for a few days, together with unripe fruits such as bananas, apricots or other fruits, so that they ripen quickly.
5. Excess salt is absorbed into the broth.
If you put a lot of salt into your soup, it’s easy to add apple slices and simmer for about 10 minutes, as the apples will absorb the excess salt.
