“YouTuber Kim Yong-ho faces trial for defamation over accusations against Seoul Mayor and broadcaster”

YouTuber Kim Yong-ho, who raised the suspicion that Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and broadcaster Kim Eo-jun had a secret agreement, was handed over to trial for defamation. On the 18th, Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office 1st Detective Division (Chief Prosecutor Kim Nam-hoon) indicted Mr. Kim without detention on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation).

According to the prosecution, Mr. Kim made a secret promise to Oh Se-hoon to help with the re-election of the mayor of Seoul in exchange for the position of Kim Eo-jun, the host of the tbs news factory, in exchange for Mr. Kim’s YouTube channel, ‘Kim Yong-ho, entertainment director’ broadcast in March of last year. In the process, he is accused of distributing false information to the effect that former Blue House administrator A acted as a messenger.

Immediately after the broadcast, Mr. Kim, who was accused, was investigated at the Songpa Police Station in Seoul. In November of last year, the police sent Kim to the prosecution on charges of defamation.
