YouTuber Acid will not appeal against the decision of the Bruges criminal court. He reported this in a new video on Sunday evening.
Nathan Vandergunst, as Acid is really called, will not appeal against the decision of the Bruges court last week. He was sentenced to three months’ suspended prison sentence and an 800 euro fine for harassment. He must pay a symbolic euro to the targeted Reuzegommer. In addition, compensation will be paid to his parents’ restaurant.
Acid then started a crowdfunding campaign, with a target of 20,000 euros. In the meantime, more than 162,000 euros have already been raised on Sunday evening. After paying his compensation, the amount of which is not yet certain, he wants to transfer the rest of the money to the family of Sandia Dia, with whom he also met online on Sunday evening.
The YouTuber also emphasizes that he has never said that he will appeal against the decision of the Bruges judge. “My lawyer says I should appeal because the sentence is simply ridiculous. But in my head: it’s done, we’ve proven our point,” he said. “I will carry that prison sentence on my criminal record as a constant reminder of what happened here. And I will do that with pride.”
