Acid: “I have done nothing wrong, there are still videos to come”
Acid – real name Nathan Vandergunst – posted a video on his YouTube platform last Wednesday in which he mentioned the names of four members of Reuzegom. Two of them were defendants in the trial, the other two were not. But according to Acid, they are involved in Sanda Dia’s death.
“They say that they have nothing to do with it, but that is not the case,” says Acid to VTM. “They knew what was happening, came up with the idea of removing all messages. So they are complicit. I don’t regret for a second that I used my platform for this.”
No fear
According to his lawyer, Acid has not made a mistake. “If you are not allowed to give your opinion on that, there is a problem to be a member of the Council of Europe, to respect the Convention on Human Rights,” says Vansteenbrugge. “We are not afraid of any claim, whether civil or criminal. The form of my client’s video is debatable, but not the content. It has awakened something in a large part of the population.”
Acid also said he might name more names. “If the media looks away, you can’t expect the population to do the same,” he says. “I don’t know yet which video I will post first on Thursday when I regain access to my platform, but I am considering a five-part series in which I announce all the names of Reuzegommers.”
Still a complaint?
The lawyers of the two Reuzegommers who were not involved in the process are considering filing a complaint on behalf of their clients. According to them, Acid could be prosecuted for defamation and defamation, electronic harassment and cyberbullying.
