The platform YouTube presented the report “YouTube Vibes Music 2023” that details the music consumption habits of its users in Mexico and Latin Americacollecting the most relevant trends, as well as revealing new expressions and formats.
This study also confirmed that music continues to be a pillar for YouTube, since, for example, between July 2021 and June 2022, it contributed six billion dollars to the industryof which 30 percent originated in user generated content (UGC).
Tradition, culture and roots are present in the patterns of navigation of the mexicans within the platform, since according to the study, 66 percent of users in our country search for specific sounds of a regional culture or ancestor“giving them an immersive experience that makes them feel more connected to their origins.”

The music industry is undergoing great changes with the arrival of the user generated content (UGC or user-generated content), the covers and the emerging artistsso the agenda is no longer dictated by the record labels.
