YouTube Tests New Feature in Shorts Allowing Users to Create Videos from Comments

YouTube is running a new test with Shorts that reminds us a lot of one of TikTok’s features.

A new option that will allow any user to create a Short from a comment posted on a video. We tell you what it is about.

Create Shorts from any comment posted

YouTube is testing a new feature in Shorts, which will extend the capabilities of one of the existing features.

Until now, YouTube gives the possibility for creators to create a Short directly from the comments, as a way of interacting with the audience.

A dynamic similar to what we find, for example, on Instagram, which allows us to take a question from our followers to create a new video.

And now the YouTube team wants to go a step further with this function, allowing any user to create a Short from a comment.

How to create a Short using comments posted on YouTube

This new function will be independent of the configuration that the creator of the channel has established. In other words, any user will be able to use a comment on the videos you post without you being able to prevent this dynamic. The only way to not use your channel’s comments is to disable them on the videos.

On the other hand, neither the creator nor the author of the comment would receive a notification when a user creates a Short using this dynamic. As for the content, it will be seen in the profile of the user who created the video and in the Shorts feed.

Please note that this is only a test that is only available to a small group of users, and is not part of any YouTube update. We will have to see if the YouTube team decides to implement this function or if it undergoes any modification during the test.

Or it may never make it to the stable version of YouTube as it happens with several of the experimental features that don’t make it to the next stage.
