Youtube star Ruby Franke (41) and former colleague Jodi Hildebrandt (54), who last week were charged with serious child abuse, are said to have both been hospitalized in recent days due to medical problems.

Franke was arrested after one of her children was found malnourished and with open wounds on her body. The child also allegedly had duct tape wrapped around his arms and legs.

Both women are now in a county jail in the state of Utah, where they risk a prison sentence of up to 15 years and a fine of over NOK 100,000 if they are found guilty.

Reports from the Washington County Jail, reviewed by People, show that Franke was moved to a medical observation unit on Friday before returning to the regular unit again after the weekend.

Hildebrandt, on the other hand, is still under observation.

– My client has experienced a life-threatening medical problem that has resulted in hospitalization for several days, her lawyer is said to have stated to news agency KUTV.
