YouTube increased the price of its Premium subscription in several countries around the world (mostly in Europe).
From now on, their plans will cost 13.99 euros per month in the case of the Individual plan (almost 14,400 Chilean pesos) and 25.99 euros per month for the Family plan ($26,720), which represents an increase of around 44% in the latter.
YouTube Premium increases in price in which countries?
Let us remember that YouTube, Google’s streaming content platform, has already increased the prices of its Premium subscription last September for other European countries, with an increase of up to 50% in some cases, stated RPP.
However, at that time, The price increase did not affect nations like Spainwhich maintained its usual rate of 11.99 euros per month for the Premium Individual plan ($12,327), 17.99 euros per month for the Family ($18,495) and 6.99 euros per month for the student option ($7,186).
Now, YouTube has made a price increase for the Premium version of the music and video app in Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway and the Czech Republic. But also outside Europe, such as in Singapore, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Colombia.
How much will it cost now?
Specifically, they reported that users will have to pay 13.99 euros per month for the Individual subscription, two euros more than the previously established price.
However, the most notable increase has been carried out in the Family plan, which now costs 25.99 euros per month (compared to 17.99 euros), which represents an increase of 8 euros compared to the previous price and, therefore, a rate around 44% higher.
For its part, the plan for Students has also increased, going from 6.99 euros to 8.99 euros per month, as the Google platform has indicated on its subscription page in Spain.
With all this, YouTube informed users of the increase in these prices through an email notification to its current subscribers, so the increase in rates for the Premium version of the app has already been officially implemented.
Will the value of YouTube Premium plans increase in Chile?
For now, The price of YouTube Premium in Chile would not change and would remain at $5,500, $9,200 (Family) and $3,225 (Students).
